Oh how I love the Little Herb House! I photographed at this wedding venue for the first time so many years ago when I first started my wedding photography career. I photographed a wedding here, and then coordinated with the lovely owner, Lisa Treadway, to do a gorgeous styled shoot that ended up getting featured on Junebug Weddings!
A Pastoral Barn Raleigh Wedding Venue
The Little Herb House is located in Raleigh. Actually, it's really not too far from downtown. This sweet Raleigh wedding venue is an area of solace and tranquility just outside of the city. It features a rustic brown barn, adorable flower gardens, and an open pasture. The sunsets here are gorgeous too!
Gardens That Inspire This Wedding Photographer
I have to admit that my favorite part of The Little Herb House is that little garden out in front of the wedding reception barn. This little garden has just so many sweet little nooks to photograph in. Even in November, there were blooms! Something about the Angel archway has always drawn me as well. I would love to see a couple host an intimate wedding in front of it!
The Barn at The Little Herb House
The Barn at The Little Herb House wedding venue is a lovely and cozy spot. Here, twinkle lights and candles really make a difference. And the darkness of the wood creates such an intimate setting over dinner. The barn can even open up on both sides to allow the air to circulate through the barn and let in a bit more natural light.
A November Wedding for Turner and Andy
Turner and Andy held their wedding in early November, but a cold front that blew through gave us an early taste of winter at their Raleigh wedding. The weather was heavily clouded and called for rain all day, so they ended up having their ceremony in the barn. Luckily, however, we were still able to take tons of pictures outside. Despite the cold, their excitement kept them warm!
The Shortest Wedding Ceremony of My Wedding Photography Career
Turner and Andy had an extremely short ceremony of only about five minutes- and that's including the processional! It was by far the shortest wedding ceremony I've ever photographed! However, these two wanted it short and sweet to ease their nerves. So by the time they got that over with, they were really ready to party!
Accessorizing on The Dance Floor
When the music started up on the dance floor, these two and their guests were ready to DANCE! They brought out the silly props and passed around glow sticks for everyone to dance with. The Little Herb House has a big bonfire pit that some guests wandered to and roasted s'mores. But I can guarantee that everyone had a fun time!
