As I mentioned in my last blog post, Meg and Matt were our very first overnight guests! They stayed in a tent next to our camper, and it was fun staying up late by the fire together. When we woke up the next morning, we decided to go for another hike. I had been wanting to explore the Nicasio Reservoir since we drove through on our way in. According to an app I had been using, it seemed like there were plenty of trails to hike, so we set off after breakfast.

Unfortunately, the directions to the trailhead were wrong, and there was not any clear signage to find a good trail when we got there. We drove around and parked at a few places searching, and then finally decided that the area with a random port-a-potty must be a more major trail. Actually we were right. Finally a trail that went more than a few hundred feet! The rolling landscape was gorgeous and Migo loved running up those rocks.

We hiked around, took in the scenery and ate some of Meg’s delicious homemade trail mix (wasabi peas + nuts and berries? genius!) before heading back and stopping by a little organic cheese farm on the way back. Man, why does the weekend have to go by so quickly?

Thanks so much for reading! More pics of our travels in the bay area will be posted soon! Shelley Hartman, North Carolina + California Wedding Photographers
