Since living in our little camper, we see the world in such a new way. While we are back on the East Coast, we really want to make sure we continue adventuring even the most familiar areas. We have been to Charleston a couple times, yet this time, we came with a whole new energy. It allowed us to see things that we may not have noticed the last time we visited a few years ago.

Our couple Heather and Casey brought us to Charleston to photograph their wedding this spring. We are incredibly grateful to be able to meet up with them in this beautiful destination city. We arrived the week before the wedding and parked our camper at Lake Aire RV Park just outside of Charleston. In preparing for the big day, we decided to hop on our bikes to ride around and scout portrait locations. My friend found a great trail called the Ashley Greenway that led us almost all the way to the city center. It was a nice flat trail that ran through marshlands and wooded groves.

Once we got downtown, we of course fell in love with Charleston all over again! The colorful buildings, flower boxes, and historic character are all just so charming. Our favorite spots to roam in cities such as this are the little side streets. Our bride Heather is from South Carolina and she recommended we start our search at Queen Street. I gotta give her props- she’s got a good eye!

We scouted out some beautiful portrait locations for Heather and Casey’s wedding day, soaked up some sun, and enjoyed Charleston’s local flavor. After walking around for a bit, we hopped back on our bikes and rode back to camp before the sunset.

Keep posted for more Charleston beauty. We’ll be sharing our pics of hikes, gators, Middleton Place, and other beautiful plantations.
