Sulene + Grayson | Lake Lure and Chimney Rock NC Engagement
We LOVE Sulene and Grayson! Josh first photographed Grayson a few months back while competing in a mountain biking (and unicycling) competition at Crabtree County Park in Raleigh. Josh captured the speed of the race in Grayson’s photo. Plus, he made a lasting impression on anyone who saw him mountain unicycling on the trails. :)
Fast forward a few months, and Grayson has proposed to his beautiful girlfriend, Sulene! We were so excited to meet up with Sulene and Grayson out in the North Carolina Mountains for their engagement session. They were traveling from Greenville, South Carolina, and we were hanging out in Lake Lure, so it seemed like a logical place to meet up. Having photographed a wedding at the Esmeralda a couple of weeks ago, we had already had a chance to scout out some great locations in neighboring Chimney Rock. Chimney Rock is not only the home to a beautiful state park- it hosts an adorable mountain town and a beautiful river. Josh and I had found a spot across from the Esmeralda with giant rocks and lush vegetation. Sulene and Grayson hopped along the rocks and enjoyed the peaceful scenery. We were only a few minutes from town, but it looked like they were in a far away jungle.
Besides being wonderfully sweet, these two are ridiculously stylish! I’m just loving the boho dress and furry vest Sulene wore. She even walked along the river in her heels. And that’s no easy feat! Between these two lovely subjects and our gorgeous scenery, we ended up with beautiful photographs. To finish up the session, Josh and I headed over to the Lake Lure Marina with Sulene and Grayson to catch the last of our light. The sun was setting over the mountains and created the perfect evening glow. The colorful fall leaves reflected in the lake- which was just icing on the cake. I am just in love with these images!
