As you may have already gathered, I’m not much of a city person. We’ve really enjoyed our time exploring State and National Parks along this trip. That being said- we were very excited to visit San Fransisco. We planned to head into the city for one day during our visit to the bay area. With El Nino in full force, that visit ended up being a wet one. At first, we were a little disappointed, but soon we realized that the rain actually made things very interesting to photograph.

The morning of our city visit, we decided to head into San Fransisco’s Chinatown. I had read somewhere that this is one of the oldest Chinatowns in the entire US. Chinatowns are always a fun visit. So many different foods, and packagings. I really enjoy seeing all the things the Chinese eat. They are much more adventurous than me!

With this rainy visit, residents of Chinatown walked the streets under colorful umbrellas. Little kids wore their cute little rain jackets and carried their own umbrellas as well. This was probably my favorite thing. My friend a bite to eat at a tiny side restaurant full of locals. He still isn’t actually sure what it was- but it was tasty and full of meat. After a bit, we went to meet up with our friends Meg and Matt to see their favorite parts of their new city and visit their adorable apartment. Such a great visit! Thanks so much for showing us around guys!!!

Thanks for reading!
